Random Verse

Phoenix

Been burned by the fire
But my all consuming
Thoughts still lead me to
The unforgiving flame

Been told of the fire
But my heart still
Feels to look
For the needy flame

Been shown the fire
But my eyes still
Yearn to be part
Of one in the same

If scars remain
That means the
Wound is healed

Just a spark will
Suffice to ignite
Something hidden
And unseen within

A Phoenix will burn
Just to rise again
From their ashes

Amnesia

Its hard to forget
These people
But memories fade
Refuse to stay

As loved ones
Grow cold in their
Shallow graves

A warm embrace
A silent cry
For help gets mixed
Up with goodbye

Advocate for Nature

I was born with
The sea in reach,
But a short distance away

When I grew it changed
The landscape evolved
As the environment collected
Toxicants

Ravaged by wind and rain
Deranged by troubled misled
Souls, never again to know whole

Industry and Corporation
Took the land and beach and sea
So they could mass produce the image
And promote the success they gathered

Plugging their beauty into a finite system
Removing the nature within

The image of wealth and promise
Is best seen off the shore, at Fisher Island

The easy heat,
The reluctant rain,
And the persistent wind

All describe the ruthless south Floridian seasons
For winter and summer are circumstantial
Pockets of warmth and cold all year
With the patches of green and brown
